New funds recently became available to help students who will be attending college for the 2009-2010 academic year. Federal Stimulus Package
For full-time undergraduate students with an Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) of $0, the maximum Pell Grant will increase $619 for a total award of $5,350. Those with an EFC between $0 and $4,617 may qualify for a varying Pell Grant award.
State Aid
The Lone Star State is contributing new money as well. The state-funded TEXAS Grant maximum award will increase from $5,280 to $6,080 per academic year. A one-time (fall semester only) $2,000 Top 10% Scholarship is available for those admitted as incoming freshmen for fall 2009 based on a top 10 percent high school class rank. Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine

Scholar Enrichment Program U of H

The program allows students to join us in the summer between graduation and freshman entry to take a college math course and a chemistry review for free.
