Westfield High School is accredited by the Texas Education Agency and the Southern Association for Secondary Schools and Colleges.
Westfield High School is part of the Spring Independent School District and is located 20 miles north of downtown Houston. Located in an urban area of Harris County, it includes 57 square miles, approximately 129,000 people, and a mix of residential, commercial and agricultural use properties.
In the spring of 2002, the school received designation as a Recognized School by the Texas Education Agency.
Westfield High School is comprised of two campuses, Westfield Main and Westfield 9th Grade Center, and serves a student population of over 4000 students. Over 60% of the student population qualifies for free and reduced lunch and the student population demographics consist of 52% African-American, 35% Hispanic, 11% White, and 2% other. The graduating Senior Class of Westfield exceeds 800 each year.
The school year begins in mid-August and ends in late May. Most classes are 50 minutes long for seven periods a day. The school year is divided into two, eighteen-week semesters. |
