Hello and welcome to the Winship Elementary Music site! I am the music teacher, Ms. Svatek. This will be my third year at Winship. In addition to teaching music, I also help direct the Spring ISD Elementary Honor Choir and sing with the Houston Masterworks Chorus. Prior to teaching here I taught choir, music, and theater in Katy. I received my Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance from Sam Houston State University. I am a certified K-12 Music specialist and am so excited to share my joy of music with your children!

In music class we explore all kinds of music. We will be learning to read and write music and to sing and play instruments. We will also learn about the history of music and important composers. From silly songs to symphonies, we have a lot of fun!

At Winship Elementary the first, third, and fifth grade levels each perform a musical program during the year. The fifth grade performs in the fall, third grade in December for the holiday show, and first grade in the spring. Keep your eyes open for more information on this year's upcoming shows!
