Welcome to the past! My name is Vicki Perritt, also known as Mrs. America, to my students. It is my privilege to introduce you to the fascinating and exciting history of the United States.

Some of you will immediately respond with, "Big deal. We get to learn about a bunch of dead people." It is my hope that sometime during the year you will discover the thrill of stepping into the past.

We will time travel in chronological sequence through the following periods of history:


* Colonial America
* Rebellion and Revolution
* Foundations of Government
* A New Nation
* Westward Expansion
* Civil War and Reconstruction

To cover so much seems almost impossible, but by the end of May, I hope that you will have gained a very good understanding of the early history of our country.
