CLASS LIBRARY VISIT (RESEARCH)
Sign up on the master schedule in advance. ONLY THE LIBRARIAN, PAT PHYTHIAN, CAN PLACE CLASSES ON THE LIBRARY CALENDAR.
Plan with librarian the purpose, services needed and the scope of the project to facilitate pulling books and web site identification.
Expectations should be communicated to the class in advance of your visit.
Plan to guide your students as they work.
Substitutes do not bring classes to the library.
FYI: Language Arts classes are pre-booked on a two week rotating schedule so it is likely you will be sharing the library with another class.
LIBRARY COMPUTERS ARE FOR RESEARCH AND BOOK SEARCH,ONLY. IF STUDENTS NEED TO TYPE OR CREATE POWERPOINTS USING THEIR RESEARCH, PLAN TO USE THE MOBILE LABS OR COMPUTER LABS AFTER YOUR STUDENTS HAVE COMPLETED THEIR RESEARCH.

STAFF CHECKOUT

Books are available for both curricular and recreational reading.
The professional library is housed in the library behind the circulation desk.
Adult fiction is housed in the storeroom and in the library behind the circulation desk.
Books for a particular unit may be checked out and used in the classroom.

Slide Projectors, Digital Camera
DISK drive for Lap Tops

Scanner with slide scanning capabilities
Mobile Computer Projector
Ellison Letter Press
SENDING INDIVIDUAL STUDENTS TO THE LIBRARY
Students should have a pass and their TCMS ID.
Student should have a purpose for the visit. (AR test;return a book;check out a new book)
Students needing the Internet for research should have the assignment with them.
DO NOT send a student to the library with a make-up test.
Student use of library computers is limited to book search and research. If students need to type or make PowerPoints, please use the mobile labs or one of the computer labs.
