CIA World Fact book - Excellent site full of information about each country, including hard-to-find statistics on everything you ever wanted to know about the country.
href="http://www.50states.com/" target="_blank">50 States.com - Gives statistical information about each state.
Geo-Globe - This ThinkQuest project in an interactive geography quiz to test your geo-smarts. You can select from different types of tests, and each test lets you set the difficulty level.
Geography Resources - Great site with a variety of resources.
Global Statistics - Basic facts about countries or states.
HyperHistory Online-Maps - Covers 3000 years of world history and includes historical maps.
INCORE Country Guides - INCORE is a current list of links to information about countries and regions of the world which are at war, have the threat of war, or need peacekeeping forces to prevent warfare.
Infonation - Select a country, then go to the Data Menu to select statistics you want to know. When these results come up, click on Switch to Country at a Glance to see all info on a particular country.
Information Please Almanac - Combines the contents of an encyclopedia, a dictionary, and several up-to-the-minute almanacs loaded with statistics, facts, and historical records.
The Library of Congress Country Studies - Search this database for any number of topics on a variety of countries. Begin by typing in the topic you are interested in exploring, and then select the country or countries you wish to focus on. Excellent resource.
Map Quest - Choose Interactive Atlas for maps. Get driving directions, or plan a trip at this site with over 70,000 maps, including international and topographical maps.

National Geographic Online - Highlights from the print version of National Geographic. Xpeditions includes an interactive atlas, a virtual world, activities for families, and standards and lesson plans for teachers.

United Nations Cartographic Section - Includes General Maps, Peacekeeping Maps, Thematic Maps, and Geographic Resources and Information.
