DeWanda Richard
Coach Richard began her college basketball career at Blinn Junior College in Brenham, TX. After playing at Blinn, she then transferred to the University of Texas, at El Paso on basketball scholarship.
Prior to her coaching years, Coach Richard worked in the business world for 9 years. Upon realizing her true calling, she began coaching at LaMarque High School in 2003-2004 as an assistant coach. At LaMarque she helped the Lady Cougars make their first playoff run in 25 years.
Following LaMarque, Coach Richard became the varsity assistant at Spring High School, in Spring, TX. The move to Spring HS was probably one of
Coach Richard's greatest coaching moves to date. She helped then head coach Stacey Stroman and the Lady Lions reach the Region 3 Final Four tournament in 2004. The following year Spring Lady Lions Basketball team went to UIL State Tournament, as one of the top four teams in the state of Texas.
After Spring, Coach Richard took her 1st head coaching position at Manvel High School. There she helped to establish new traditions in the 2 years she was there. Once gone from Manvel she returned to Spring ISD to team up once again with Coach Stroman, at DeKaney High School. Coach Richard aided in leading the DeKaney Wildcats to the state playoffs in their inaugural year as a varsity squad.
Coach Richard is back at Spring High School as the head coach. She brings a level of energy and excitement that will help get the Lady Lions Basketball program back on track.

Denise Schwab
Coach Schwab is a 1983 graduate of Youngstown State University, where she attended on a dual athletic scholarship for basketball and softball. Upon graduating from Youngstown State, she coached for 2 years in Ohio before moving to Del Rio, TX, where she became the freshman basketball coach.
In 1989, Coach Schwab became the head basketball coach at Del Rio, which culminated with a trip to the Regional Finals in 1991. In addition to her success as a basketball coach at Del Rio, Coach Schwab was also head golf and cross country coach.
Coach Schwab left Del Rio and became the varsity assistant at Aldine HS in 1992. In 1997, Coach Schwab was hired as the head coach at Klein Forest HS. Her success at KFHS included: 2000 Regional Semifinaist, 2001 Regional Quarterfinalist and 2002 area playoffs.
After 12 years at the helm at Klein Forest, Coach Schwab joins the SHS coaching staff, bringing experience and enthusiasm to her latest endeavor of helping build the Lady Lion program.

Tywanda Brown
Coach Brown is from Tyler, Texas. She attended the University of Texas at Tyler and Texas College. Coach Brown played college volleyball, played on the East Texas Jr. Olympic team, and basketball.
This is Coach Brown's 7th year of teaching, 6th year as a coach, and 3rd year here at Spring HS.
She is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and is the mother of two wonderful daughters, Ayanna and Breuntae.

Michael Prejean
Coach Prejean is in his first year as a basketball coach at SHS. Coach Prejean is a native of Lafayette, LA, where he played high school basketball and baseball. Coach Prejean was afforded the opportunity to play college baseball at Southern University, where he was a member of the 1996 conference championship team.
Coach Prejean has taught the game of basketball to youth of all ages for the past 5 years. He is excited about working with the SHS coaching staff and helping "restore the roar" to Lady Lion basketball.
