Spring High School is a part of the Spring Independent School District. Spring I.S.D. is located 18 miles north of Houston in suburban Harris County. The district encompasses 57 square miles east and west of Interstate 45. Enrollment in Spring I.S.D. is approximately 32,400. The district consists of twenty elementary schools, six middle schools, one 9th grade facility, two 5A high schools, and a career high school. This fall, we are opening a new high school which will begin with grades 9-10. Spring residents enjoy the many cultural, recreational, and entertainment advantages of Houston. Spring High School has recently completed a three-year $20 million renovation, which includes additional facilities and classrooms.
Spring High School is a comprehensive public high school serving grades 9-12 and is fully accredited by the Texas Education Agency.
The school year consists of two semesters of approximately 18 weeks in length. Each day consists of seven periods of approximately 50 minutes each; with each class meeting 5 days per week. School hours for students are 7:15 a.m. until 2:25 p.m.
The enrollment for 2007-2008 is approximately 3200 students with an ethnic breakdown of: 44.6% white, 25.3% Hispanic, 26.8% African American, 3.3% Asian/Pacific Islander/Native American.
Approximately 86% of the senior class will attend a 2-year or 4-year college or university with 38% attending a 4-year institution.
Over 250 courses are offered at Spring High School including courses for gifted and talented students and students in special education. Advanced placement courses are available in English/Language Arts, Music, Art, Foreign Languages, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies (20 different courses).
Concurrent credit courses are available at Spring High School in English IV, Humanities, and Spanish IV.

It is the mission of the faculty and staff of Spring High School to provide an environment in which students may achieve success in the areas of attendance, attitude, and academics. This mission is accomplished in a variety of ways: proper academic placement; high academic expectations; opportunities for participation in numerous clubs, organizations, and teams; quality counseling services; an overall safe, and orderly atmosphere; and a comprehensive student recognition and incentive program.
