As one of the theatre and speech teachers at Spring High School, I teach Theatre Arts I, Theate Arts Honors and Theatre Production Honors. Each of these classes is designed for a special type of theatre student. Theatre Arts I students are beginning students who either had theatre in Middle School or this is their first time to take a theatre class. Theatre Production Honors is designed for those advanced theatre students who are specializing in musical theatre. The students are required to tryout for the musical that is produced in January and they work on the production either as a cast member or back stage. Theatre Arts Honors is for those students who are interested in speech tournament competition. These students attend a minimum of 6 tournaments throughout the year and compete in a variety of acting events.
Hopefully any student at Spring High School can find a place in a theatre class that is best suited for them. All of these classes count as the Fine Art Credit required for graduation. We encourage all students to participate in our productions. These productions are done as extracurricular activities after school.
