FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK

Parents,

It was great seeing so many of you at Open House, Parent Conference Day, Family Science Night, and the Carnival. We are always delighted to have parents in the school. Your participation and support tells your child that his/her education and school are important to you. I would like to thank you again for being our partner in the success of your child.

We have entered the second nine weeks of the 2007-2008 school year. Our second nine weeks theme is “Team Up For Success.” Students may wear their favorite team shirt every Friday this nine weeks.

We are experiencing high achievement and students being at their best. Parents ask how can I help my child. Be sure your child has a positive start to school. He/she needs a good night’s sleep, breakfast, and all of his/her supplies. If you have a concern, don’t wait and see -- communicate with your child’s teacher. Early intervention will increase your child’s chances to reach his or her full potential. Parental involvement makes a huge difference in your child’s success, yet can be as simple as discussing what happened at school today or what he/she is looking forward to tomorrow. It can also be settling down for the evening reading a book together. If you need some ideas, ask your child’s teacher. Reynolds is committed to the success of all students.

I want to extend to you an invitation to volunteer in the school. Please contact the PTO and see what volunteer opportunities are available to you.

Enjoy Thanksgiving and the Winter Break. The last day of school is December 21. Classes resume January 3, 2008

Sincerely,

Carolyn Mays
