I teach Art 1; Advanced Art 1; Art 2, 3, and 4 Honors Drawing; Art 2 and 3 Painting; and 2-D Design Advanced Placement. This is my 12th year at Spring High School and my 22nd year of teaching. I have taught art at the elementary, middle school, high school, and college levels. I love sharing the joy of creating beautiful and powerful art with my students. Creating art is truly a fulfilling experience; it demands our full participation – intellectual, emotional, and physical. I want my students to reach their fullest potential in art, and to reach that goal, I stress the fundamentals of drawing, composition, craftsmanship, and perseverance. I teach art as a joyful but serious subject, maintaining high standards for my students, knowing that they will be rewarded with the results of their work and with the satisfaction of accomplishment. And that's a lot of fun!

Students are welcome to work in my room after school, nearly every day of the week, with the exception being the occassional day in which I have a meeting or appointment.
