Meyer’s Standardized Dress Program |
 |
 |
Following Spring ISD School Board approval, Meyer Elementary adopted a mandatory standardized dress policy in May 1997. Our intent is to maintain and enhance the overall learning environment by focusing on academics, creating a team approach to school improvement, and to provide a safe and secure atmosphere. The following information explains the policies and requirements of our standardized dress program.
Standardized dress items may be purchased at any retail store. School T-shirts, monogrammed polo shirts, and sweatshirts may also be purchased at Meyer. School products are made from quality fabrics and are sold on a non-profit basis. All clothing items worn by students must comply with the stated dress code guidelines.
All students will be required to participate, except for those who have provided a written statement expressing a bona fide religious or philosophical objection to the principal. If after reviewing the statement, the principal determines further clarification is needed, a conference may be requested at which time a decision will be made to accept or reject the request.

A first offense will result in a phone call to the parent, and the student will be required to change his/her clothing. Successive offenses will result in a student being sent to the office until a parent can bring acceptable clothing to the school. Repeated offenses will result in assignment to the in-school suspension center located on campus. Persistent non-compliance may result in assignment to Spring ISD’s alternative placement center.
