Grades

How grades are calculated...all daily work counts as 50% of the student's grade, and the tests count 50%. It is very important for all students to do their best on all assignments. Even if a student excells on daily assignments, if he/she does poorly on the tests, the average will be hurt. For that reason alone, it is important for all students to study for the tests this year. Much of the content will be new to students and many are not accustomed to studying for social studies tests. Content knowledge will be assessed in a variety of ways. Students will be expected to complete multiple choice, true and false, short answers and performance tasks. I know that many families have afternoon and evening commitments, I am available for morning tutorials on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

Tutorials

If a student needs to come in for morning tutorial, you can write a note stating that they need to come to Mrs. Humphries' room 618 for tutorials. Be sure to date and sign the note. If a student is absent it is important that they come in for tutorials to get the assignments missed.

Late Work Policy

Tier 2 6th Grade and 7th Grade-
1 day -20
2 days-40
3 days-40
No work will be accepted after 3 days.


If there is a special circumstance for the work being late, please send a note or call.
