 Hello! Welcome to Pre-Kindergarten at Jenkins where we will be learning, exploring and growing together. My name is Laura Brown and I have been teaching for eleven years. I graduated from the University of Texas and I've taught Kindergarten in Austin ISD and Pre-Kindergarten in Klein ISD. After the birth of my children, I took some time off to be at home with them and I even worked a few years as the Director of a Preschool/Mother's Day out program. This will be my fifth year teaching at Jenkins. This is my second year teaching Pre-K here and I love it! I have also taught Kindergarten here at Jenkins. Jenkins is a great place to work and we have an awesome Pre-K Team! You and your child are welcomed as a part of the Jenkins family! |
 We have been working hard and having fun in Pre-K! We are settled into to our new school and new routines. Some of our upcoming units are Colors, Autumn, Pumpkins and Apples, Thanksgiving, and the Winter Season.
We are also starting to learn letters and their sounds. Every two weeks the children will be introduced to two letters. We will discuss the shape of both the capital and lower case letters, the sound they make and words that have those sounds.
We are still working on writing our names using a capital at the beginning and then lower case letters.
Please make sure your child knows their breakfast number. It makes the breakfast line go much quicker so we can get back to class and start our Pre-K fun! |
