We are so busy learning our letters, sounds, and sight words in Kindergarten! Please practice letters and the sounds they make with your child at home. Kindergarten students are expected to learn 50 sight words. I have the sight words posted on this web site. You can help your child at home by reading with them every day, and practicing the letters, sounds, and sight words. We are busy reading books and learning about spiders, bats, and pumpkins. Ask your child what we are learning about this week!

We begin every day with Calendar activities. We discuss the days of the week, months of the year, and how many days we have come to school everyday. We practice counting every day. Your child will need to be able to count to 25 by the end of the first nine weeks of school. We are learning sequence and position words in math. We are learning over, under, on, left, right, top, middle, bottom, inside, and outside.

It was terrific to see so many of you at Open House, and also at Parent conference day! Thank you for takig the time to meet with me to discuss your child's progress.
