The goal of this class is to develop reading, writing, listening, speaking, and thinking skills through American literature. We will read poetry, short stories, articles, novels, and plays. We openly share our ideas and opinions through discussion and respectful debate. Everyone has something to contribute to our classroom, and everyone can improve critical thinking skills.

I am here to work with you and support you in your learning. We will develop communication skills by building grammar and vocabulary. Strong reading and writing skills will help you succeed throughout your life as well as prepare for upcoming SAT, ACT, and TAKS exams. Please note: All students must pass the Exit-Level TAKS exam in order to graduate.
