This course is designed to educate students about pregnancy, childrbirth and parenting. Students will learn what is needed to be a good, nurturing and caring parent. Parenting is an awesome responsibility that requires a lot of forethought and preparation.
Students will have two wonderful, fun and educational projects. First they will wear an empathy belly. This simulates the look and feel of pregnancy during the 8th month. A parental release must be signed before the student may participate.
After wearing the empathy belly, the student is ready to carry the computer doll. The computer programmed babies will be checked out to the students to be taken home and cared for overnight. A letter will be sent home outlining the responsibility and liability of the project.
