Welcome to Jenkins Elementary School! I am beginning my 5th year as principal of Jenkins and I am lucky to work at one of the best schools ever. We have supportive parents, great students, and super teachers. Jenkins is an amazing place to learn!

I am excited that you are scanning our website and hope you are able to see some of the great things that are happening at our school. At Jenkins Elementary, we are committed to excellence and are fortunate to have a supportive community. I have highlighted some things you might want to know about Jenkins Elementary:

Our school is 31 years old and has always been a true neighborhood school. We sit in the middle of our community and our playground and fields are in constant use in the evenings and on the weekends.

We form a partnership with all of our parents to do what is best for each child in the school.

Teachers at Jenkins spend long hours working for the success of each individual child and maintaining ongoing communication with parents through newsletters, telephone, email, notes and conferences.

We teach character education at Jenkins to help our Jaguars become model citizens. Students in grades Pre-K through 5 learn and practice the eight pillars of character: Responsibility, Integrity, Perseverance, Cooperation, Kindness, Citizenship, Empathy and Respect.

Manners matter at Jenkins. We teach and use three basic school manners: Follow directions, Be safe and Show respect! When our students are on track with their manners, we tell them that, “They are okay,” or “U.R.O.K!”

Jenkins Elementary School is truly a school with a FUTURE inside. You will notice our logo that reflects this motto on our web pages and on other materials that are sent from the school. We feel that every student is a star and part of a bright future! I am excited that your child is a part of that future!
