A NEW SCHOOL YEAR HAS BEGUN!!!

We are ALL excited about the new school year! The first day of the 2006-2007 school year was Tuesday, August 15th.

Please remember that school begins each day at 8:15. The school doors are opened at 7:50 am for breakfast. Students should not be dropped off before 7:50 am.

Tardies and leaving early count toward student absences.

Students MUST have an ID for bus transportation, checking out library books and getting breakfast and lunch in the cafeteria. Please be sure your child has the ID beginning Tuesday, August 22nd.

Jenkins Teacher of the Year Honored!!!


The Humble Chamber of Commerce hosted a luncheon to honor area Teachers of the Year for 2006. Jenkins Teacher of the Year, Angela Pate, participated in the event.

Jenkins students are fortunate to have Mrs. Pate at our school. CONGRATS!!!

Congratulations Dr. R. Scott Allen!

Our very own Principal, Mr. Allen, has crossed the finish line! He received his Doctorate in Education on Tuesday, September 26th. Dr. Allen - we are SO proud of you and your accomplishments! Jenkins Elementary is lucky to have such an awesome principal! UROK!!!

Jenkins Fall Fun Run



The PTO's 2nd Annual Fall Fun Run will be held Saturday, October 21st.

Late Registration is from 7:00-7:30 am. Students and family members can run, walk, skate or bike the one mile around the Jenkins neighborhood. The Fun Run will start at 7:45 am.

Late registration is $12 and includes a T-shirt. Prizes will be given after the run.

Come be a part of the fun!!!

Jenkins Celebrates Red Ribbon Week

Just say no to drugs! That is the message that is being taught at Jenkins during Red Ribbon Week. Students are taking part in special activities all week to learn about the dangers of drugs.

Jenkins Students to Perform as Munchkins


Ten Jenkins students from 4th and 5th levels will perform with The Spring High School Lion Players Theatre Company. They will present “The Wizard of Oz” at 7 p.m. Jan. 25, 26 and 27 in the Spring High School auditorium. Based on the L. Frank Baum classic and the MGM movie, “The Wizard of Oz” follows Dorothy Gale as she travels to Oz and back to Kansas. The production will feature Spring High fine arts students and students from Jenkins Elementary School. The admission is $10. Tickets may be purchased by calling the theater department at 281-355-2128 or 281-355-2190, or at the box office starting at 6:30 p.m. before each show.

Sock the Vote at the Jenkins Sock Hop!


Early voting for the SISD Bond Election will take place on Friday, May 4th at Jenkins Elementary School!

Early Voting will take place in the school foyer from 7:45 am to 8:30 pm.

The annual PTO Sock Hop is from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Voting booths will be open during the Sock Hop.

Jenkins Counting Down the Days!!

The last day of school at Jenkins will be Thursday, May 31st. Students will be released at 11:15 am and buses will run at that time.

5th Level Awards Celebration will be Wednesday, May 30th at 9:00 am in the cafeteria.

Summer school starts on Monday, June 4th.
