Hi! My name is Jennifer Crawford and this is my tenth year at Jenkins. I have taught first grade, third grade and kindergarten at Jenkins. I have to say that kindergarten is my favorite. Especially, the bear class! The kindergarten team is great and we all really enjoy teaching your children. If you have any questions or concerns, please call or email me. |
I am so excited to let everyone know that we won the sight word challenge this week against Mrs. Hannan's class. We brought the trophy to our class for the week and we will hopefully get to keep it next week. With that said, let's make sure that we are ALL studying sight words at home. It was a lot of fun and we had a great time.
In language arts this week, we will be doing some fun projects learning about spiders. Our new word for this week will be can. We have been practicing can already, but it will be our main focus this week.
In math, we are going to be working on Sequence and position words. Some of the concepts will be inside/outside, on, under, over, top, middle, bottom, etc. You can practice these concepts at home as well. In social studies we are going to be learning about fire safety. This is a good time to make sure that your child knows what to do at home if there is ever a fire.
I have really enjoyed getting to know your child and look forward to working with you as well. I know if we all work together, we will have a successful year. |
 1. Our class is the BEAR class.
2. We eat lunch at 10:15.
3. We have a snack everyday. Your child needs to bring a healthy snack and water bottle everyday. Please do not send sodas, candy or fruit juice for snacks. We eat lunch VERY early and the kids really need that snack.
4. Flip flops and shoes without backs are not acceptable footwear at Jenkins. Tennis shoes are best.
5. I would really appreciate all girls wearing shorts under their dresses or skirts. Everyone loves to climb on the monkey bars, swing and not to mention that we spend a lot of time sitting cross legged on the carpet.
6. All toys need to be left at home. Even though we try to be careful, accidents happen and things will get lost or broken.
7. If you haven't already started, here are three things to start working on right now. Writing first name with the first letter being capital and all the other lowercase, Counting to 25 and recognizing both the lower and uppercase letters and their sounds. |
