Sewing Supplies |
The following sewing supplies will be needed by Monday, January 8th.
Each student will need 1 and 1/2 yards of fabric if they are 5' 3" or shorter or 2 yards of fabric if they are taller than 5' 3".
Scissors (3-5 inches)
2 small spools thread to match fabric
stuffing
hand needles (2)
straight pins
OPTIONAL:
seam ripper
tape measure
thimble
Buy material that is cotton or cotton-polyester. Do not spend more than $3.99 per yard.
Each student got a list of supplies and saw examples the week before finals.
Students without these supplies will do written assignments for their grades.

Beginning Class |
Students are being taught skills to use in classroom settings and in adult life. These skills apply to work and home.
The Beginning of the Class Period
Objective
All students will be able to enter room, prepare for class and begin appropriately.
POSITIVE INDICATORS
Respond to teacher’s greeting in a like fashion.
If teacher says, “Good morning.” reply back with greeting.
Be next to your assigned seat when the bell stops ringing.
At the end of the bell
Stop talking.
Sit down.
Look at the board or screen for beginning instructions. Follow them or take out a sheet of paper.
Have your own supplies or get them before the end of the bell ringing.
NEGATIVE INDICATORS
All other behaviors.
Tardys.
Running in.
Standing at someone else’s desk.
Standing in the back of the room.
ALMOST BUT NOT QUITE INDICATORS
Continuing to talk after bell finishes ringing.
Starting for your desk at the end of the bell.
Asking classmates for supplies after the bell finishes ringing.

Listening during Instruction |
Students are learning skills which will help classroom learning, personal life and work situations.
Objective
• All students will be able to
use appropriate listening skills during direct instruction.
POSITIVE
Face directly toward the speaker with head up and eyes open.
• Quiet, not talking during presentation.
• Body, hands and feet still.
• Use “Raising Hand Instructions” for questions and to answer.
• Hold questions until conclusion.
Negative
• All other behaviors
• Looking away from the speaker.
• Talking while speaker is talking.
• Tapping hands; shuffling feet; turning around or sideways in chair.
• Putting head on desk.
• Interrupting with questions or comments.
Almost but not quite
• Sometimes facing the
speaker.
• Whispering or quietly communicating with someone.
• Moving, stretching quietly.
• Asking others or answering others
