My name is Frances Packman and this is my eighth year teaching and my seventh year at Spring High School.
I am currently teaching Yearbook, Journalism, and Photography in the new school year of 2008-2009. My bachelor of arts degree is from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Photography is one of my favorite subjects to teach because of the limitless ability for students to express themselves through the photos they choose to shoot.
Journalism in another subject I love to teach where students learn more about the outside world through examination of news and events, whether the information is local or worldly.
Yearbook publication is a student written yearlong project. This collaboration of written stories and photos allows the classroom environment to work together on this traditional yearlong publication. Each student in the three levels of yearbook contribute to the completion of the book as a tribute to the year in both words and pictures.
Newspaper is published in both print and internet for students and parents to examine. Newspaper editions will be printed each six weeks with an emphasis on school news and community news. Internet editions will be published after the publication of the print medium to introduce students to the traditional aspects of writing for a printed medium and to introduce new aspects of a changing area of writing.
