Physical Education
Dear Parents,

I am looking forward to working with you and your daughter this semester. PE is a class girl's will benefit from now and in the future. Our goal is to keep your daughters physically active throughout a lifetime. Below are some class expectations and rules.

Rules:
Running is NOT allowed.
Three minutes after the tardy bell rings, students will be dismissed from the locker room. They must go directly to the gym and sit down in their assigned squad lines for attendance.

Proper Dress:
PE shirt and shorts (First inital and last name on both)
Tennis shoes
Warm ups and jackets may be brought to wear during winter months.
If a students does NOT bring her uniformm, a clean uniform is provided. (Points will be deducted)

Lockers:
Students will be assigned a locker and a combination lock. (A lock may NOT be brought from home.)
Students are expected to take PE clothes home on Fridays to be washed and brought back on Mondays.
Students are respponsible for keeping all their articles locked up in their assigned lockers.

Grades:
80% test (Participation during class and dressing out in PE uniform everyday)
20% Cardiovascular (20 minute walk/run or the mile)

As well as follwing classroom and school rules the girl's are allowed one SIT OUT day per six weeks. We realize that there are days that they don't feel well but that they must attend school. Please understand that a parent note does NOT need to brought to PE for your daughter to SIT OUT. The girl's are to come into my office and let me know that they would like to take their SIT OUT day. I will look at my gradebook and if they have not taken their day they may SIT OUT. What does SIT OUT mean? Your daughter will get a physical education report (from my office) and write a two page summary (front and back of 1 sheet of notebook paper) of the report. They will go back to the locker room, change clothes, get paper and pencil(pen) and go sit in the gym and write. It is your duaghter's responsiblity to turn the summary of the report into me to recieve credit for that day!

Your help with this is greatly appreciated. Please feel free to contact me by the way of phone or even e-mail.

Thank you,

Health
Dear Parents,

I am looking forward to working with you and your son/daughter this semester. Health is a class that students will benefit from now and in the future. They will learn decision making skills and everyday life skills. This course is a high school credited course for those students who pass. Below are some class expectations and rules.

Rules:
• RESPECT - No put downs!
• PARTICIPATION – Everyone try to participate
• CONFIDENTIALITY – No personal identifications of sensitive information. “Someone I know…”

Grades:
• 50% test (Projects will count as two test grades)
• 50% daily (Quizzes count as two daily grades)

Student Responsibilities:
As well as following all class and school rules students are responsible for asking the teacher for any assignments missed. I have a weekly assignments calendar on the board of worksheets and papers we did. However, there are days when we just take notes. It is the student’s responsibility to set up a time with the teacher to come in a get the notes.

Your help with this is greatly appreciated. Please feel free to contact me by the way of phone or even e-mail me

Thank you,
