Families:
Each grade of students is divided between two "families" of core subjects (English, Math, Science and Social Studies) teachers. This model allows interdisciplinary instruction and helps foster a closer connection between teachers and students. If you would like to schedule a conference with your child's teachers, please contact the family leader. There are 2 family leaders for each grade level. The family leader will be able to contact all of your child's teachers to make arrangements.

Classes:
Each day, students attend seven 51 minute classes. The 2nd period teacher is considered the homeroom teacher.

Inclusion:
DMS provides an education to students with disabilities in the most appropriate and Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) according to decisions made at each student's Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD) meeting.

PTO:
DMS receives tremendous support from a strong and active parent-teacher organization. PTO dues are $5.00 per family. PTO meetings are scheduled to coincide with band, chior & theater performances throughout the year.

DMS is staffed with caring teachers, para-professionals, counselors, administrators and support staff dedicated to student growth and learning.
