Welcome Class of 2010 students and parents!
We will update this webpage and calendar every week to keep, you, our students and parents, informed about upcoming meetings and activities.

2010 PROM ACROSS AMERICA CONTEST!!!
A nation wide VOTING contest for all high schools!!!

The school with the most votes within each state wins $1,000! The top 3 schools with the most votes within the nation wins $5,000 for prom decorations, $1,000 for a DJ, royalty for your prom court and MUCH MORE!!!

Visit the following website and look for the "PURPLE CIRLCE" (the image above) on the left and click on it to cast YOUR vote for Dekaney High School. ANY ONE CAN VOTE! You can vote as many times as you want!!!!

CLASS OF 2010 ANNOUNCEMENTS/SENIOR FEES
The location for prom will be at the Woodlands Marriott Waterway on Saturday, May 8th. After Prom will be at Dave & Buster's. Bus transportation will be provided. The fees include: -Food & Drinks -Games -Bowling -and Billiards (Pool) Our Senior Trip will be at Fiesta Texas (San Antonio) on Wednesday, June 2, 2010. Includes: -Admission -Transportation -and Food Senior Picnic will be May 7th 2010. -T-shirt -Games -Food -Inflatables -and Music *Any suggestions or ideas can be directed to Ms.Regina Gies or Ms. Melanie Bailey.

Senior Fee's $30 - REQUIRED What do senior fees pay for? -Cost related to graduation, awards, communication, and any other senior activities. THE FOLLOWING PACKAGES ARE AVAILABLE TO SENIORS, BUT BEWARE THAT AFTER JANUARY 22ND PROM PACKAGES ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE. Deluxe Package A - $235 Includes:  Prom Ticket  After Prom Ticket  Senior Picnic  Senior Trip  Senior Fees MINIMUM Payment: $78.33 per installment Best Deal Package B - $180 Includes:  Prom Ticket  Senior Picnic  Senior Trip  Senior Fees Minimum Payment: $60 per installment (Remember: You can earn a free After Prom ticket if you volunteer 10 hours.) Basic Package C - $100 Includes:  Prom ticket  Senior Picnic  Senior Fees Minimum Payment: $33.33 per installment A La Carte  Prom ticket - $70  After Prom ticket - $65  Senior Picnic - $25  Senior Trip - $90  ***Senior Fees - $30 (required) *You can only pay in installments if you buy a package. *You can add on a prom ticket and/or after to any package at a reduced rate. *If you purchase any item after January 22nd, you must pay the “a la carte” price. --- Also you must pay in full at time of purchase. *The last day to pay for Prom, After Prom, Senior Picnic, and Senior Trip is March 12th. *Senior Fees can be paid through April 9th.
AFTER PROM TICKET
There is an opportunity available for all seniors to earn their after prom ticket to Dave & Buster's. You can choose from the following to volunteer:

Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM)

Saturday Volunteers - Second Chance and NAM
Resale Shops are open 10:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m. and
need volunteers to sort, stock, and price donated
items. Please call Second Chance Resale Shop on
FM 1960 at 281-880-9000 or NAM 's Resale Shop in
Willowchase Shopping Center at 281-897-8952 for
more information.

Food Pantry - Volunteers are needed to pick up food
donations at various locations (retail, private, etc.),
sort food, stock shelves, and assemble grocery

volunteer form and take it with you when
you do your volunteer service.
COMMUNITY SERVICE PROM TICKET
We are very excited to be working with the Greater Houston Student Volunteer Initiative. Dekaney seniors have the opportunity to complete community service and earn money towards their After Prom ticket. Each student can work a total of 10 hours and for each hour worked they can earn $10.

They must work in at least 3 hour blocks and these hours can not be used for anything else, After Prom only.

Attached is the information concerning the eligibility for each student who wishes to participate, as well as the places they can volunteer and the paperwork that must be turned in.

The required forms must be submitted to a senior class sponsor by April 26th.
