MATH: We are working on decimals and fractions. They're having fun and love coming up with their own problems for other students to solve! ALL of the students are involved and truly getting a good understanding of Math concepts.

SCIENCE: Right now we are doing the matter and density unit. The students are learning how to use the balance beams and enjoy weighing EVERYTHING :) Density is a complex skill and is difficult for even adults to master, but the children are doing well and learning so much.

SOCIAL STUDIES: We've just recently ended our unit on Texas Regions. The students researched the wildlife, land, resources, and cities that can be found in each region. We ended the unit with a Jeopardy game to review what we learned. Soon, we will begin the Native Americans chapter. The students will have fun researching a tribe with their classmates.

READING AND LANGUAGE ARTS: Your children are wonderful writers! They are coming up with great ideas for our class stories. In reading, we've been working on context clues and soon we will begin a story from our textbook.
NOW FOR THE REALLY FUN STUFF! ;)
Students in my class have 3 responsibilities each week regarding homework.

On Thursdays, Spelling and Math homework is due. Math will usually be multiplication facts. It is imperative that your child master their facts up to 12x12.

On Fridays, Reading minutes are due. Please monitor the time they've read and sign their sheet.
