Welcome to Ms.R's English IV and TAKS Lab classes. English IV is a survey of British Literature. During the year we will study literature, vocabulary, grammar, poetry,and composition. The literary works we will study intensively are BEOWULF, THE CANTERBURY TALES, and Shakespeare's HAMLET. Books will be provided for in-class use; however, I encourage the purchase of these novels for at home study.

TAKS Lab is a course designed to prepare students for the ELA TAKS Exit Exam. Through projects, compositions, editing warm-ups, and practice tests, we will prepare to PASS THE TAKS!!!!!!!!

I have spent 13 wonderful and rewarding years teaching English, TAKS Lab and journalism to students from grades 8-12. When I am away from work, I enjoy collecting fairy figurines, traveling overseas, participating in renaissance activities and playing with my four dogs Misty, Sage, Hunter and Oscar. I spent this summer in Central Europe and last summer in Oxford, England studying British literature at Exeter College. I am thrilled to be here at Spring High School ,and I am proud to be a Spring High Lion.
