In science we finished our safety unit and have now started learning about matter. Your child can tell you what the 3 states of matter are and how the molecules look in that matter. We are also learning about mass, weight,density, and volume. We will be doing lots of fun labs and learning about many things. Some of the skills your child will use are observing,infering,predicting,classifying,measuring,and controlling variables.

We will be working all year learning the steps in the scientific method. By the end of the year all of the students should be able to design their own experiment using all the steps. The steps in the scientific method are:
1. Choose a problem
2. Research your problem
3. Develop an hypothesis
4. Write your procedure
5. Test you hypotheses
6. Organize your data
7. State your conclusion
