This academic school year will focus primarily on an introduction and exposure to World Literature, Multiculturalsim, Character Education and much, much more. The curriculum is packed with fun, rigor, relevance, and building relationships as well as a potpouri of activities,hands on projects,presentations,Power Point projects, cooperative learning techniques, music, wackiness and fun. All of this is designed to help the class learn the TEKS/TAKS objectives in
a more innovative way as well as learn strategies for handling situations in real life. The course is replete with a Short Story Unit, Novel Unit where we will read Night by Elie Wiesel, Antigone, Julius Caesar, Alas, Babylon, Poetry, Creative Writing, Phantom of the Opera and more, Responses to Literature, Research, and much more. Let's learn, but most importantly, let's have a ball doing it!

Hi, My name is Cassie Landrew and as an English teacher of students in the 10th grade, I am empowered, charged, and ready to go with a new year of awesome challenges and accomplishments. I am determined that my students WILL all achieve success.

My challenge to all of my students is to THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX. Challenge yourself to go a little bit farther than you did last year. Work a little harder and much smarter. Be your best self and become what you are capable of being. Reach for the stars and catch them! I have confidence in you and can't wait to see your best you. Think about John Maxwell's words, "The secret of your success is found in your daily routine." Routinely plan your work and work your plan.
