Access Levels in the BMS Media Center Catalog
Usage rights are granted at different levels, depending upon one’s relationship with BMS. This is a brief explanation of the available Access Levels.
GUEST: This access level makes the media center's catalog available to our entire community. It is not necessary to login at this level. The link above takes one directly to the catalog at the GUEST level. Search the catalog by entering a keyword, a title, an author’s name, or a subject. Guests may also search the catalogs of other Spring ISD media centers as well. For more information about resources accessed at this level, contact the BMS Media Specialist.
PATRON: Registered BMS students may login with their school login and ID number. In addition to being able to search the catalog by keyword, title, author or subject, students may create an individual, printable BookList of titles, and may view their own library record. Contact the BMS Media Specialist to request to put materials on HOLD.
TEACHER: BMS teachers may login with their Groupwise (email) login to search the catalog as described above, create a printable BookList, view their own media center record, and search the state standards to locate books in the BMS library (as well as web sites) that correlate with individual TEKS. Teachers may put books on hold for checkout, or on reserve for a specified time period.
NOTE: Students and teachers who wish to search the catalogs of other Spring ISD media centers may only do so as a GUEST (click on the link above). Contact the BMS Media Specialist for interlibrary loan requests.
