Bammel Beauties
Bammel Capoeira Club

Sponsored by Mr. Russell. Capoeira is a truly unique sport: part dance and part fight. The capoeirista (capoeira player) moves to the rhythm of the berimbau, an African string instrument, and as the tempo changes, so does the pace and energy of the game. Depending on your point-of-view, capoeira can be seen as a form of exercise, a fast and exciting sport, self-defense, a game of strategy and survival or all of them combined. Mr. Russell, also known as "Marreta", teaches the classes.

Bammel Capoeira Club membership status extends under the umbrella of the Brazilian Arts Organization headed by Mauricio Campos, and its affiliate group Capoeira Luanda. Students are extended members of Capoeira Luanda, a national and international Capoeira Martial Arts organization that's headed by Capoeira Regional Mestre Jelon.
