How Can Parents Help In Math?
1. Find opportunities to solve math problems together in your daily lives (cooking, shopping, money, measuring, etc.)
2. Practice basic math facts- having a bank of knowledge can help make multiplication problems much more manageable.
3. Encourage your child to use objects and draw pictures to act out the problem.
4. Let your child be creative in the solving of a problem. Encourage them to understand the problem, not just find the right answer. They should be able to explain what they did to solve the problem and why.
