Games to Develop Good Listening Skills
1. Clap a simple rythym(2-6 counts). Encourage your child to imitate the pattern. You can also use rhythym sticks, drums or empty coffee cans with plastic lids.

2. Repeat 2-6 numbers or letters of the alphabet in random order. Encourage your child to repeat the pattern.

3. Play the same game using words in different categories.
Ex) car, dog, pig...apple, bannana, peach...duck, dog, cat.

4. Sing simple songs or nursery rhymes with your child. As you sing, hold your hands above your head and sing loudly. Lower your hands and sing softly. Encourage your child to do the same. Two very easy songs are Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and the Alphabet Song.

5. Just for fun, play the sqeeze game. Next time you are holding hands, squeeze your childs hand in a simple rythmic pattern. Encourage them repeat the pattern. Let your child begin the next round.
