We are almost half way through the school year! It is hard to believe, but we have worked so hard and learned so much already. I hope everyone has a nice Thanksgiving and Christmas break and is ready for the rest of the year!

Every week your child will receive Math homework. Homework will be on either Monday or Wednesday (sometimes both days) and is due the next day. It will usually cover an area we have been working on for additional practice. Homework will sometimes be graded and it is important they return their homework each week.

Your child should also bring home a Red Daily Folder on a regular basis. The Daily Folder will include graded papers, handouts, and notes from the teacher. Some papers may need to be signed and returned the next day. It is extremely important you check this folder each and every day.

We are currently working on subtraction in math and using strategies for regrouping. It is very important that your child practices their addition and subtraction facts as much as possible to make long addition and subtraction easier for them. Flash cards are a great way to practice at home!

We just started our unit on forces and have been doing some pretty fun labs to learn about pushes and pulls! This unit will go into the earth's forces and we will begin learning about earthquakes, volcanoes and glaciers in the coming weeks. This is a very exciting unit that the students love!
