The Westfield Mustangs finished 12th in the 2006 Region 7 meet at Westfield High School. Westfield's Vikas Patel took 3rd place in the Honors Mathematics contest, earning Westfield it's second major award. Vikas Patel was also the top Honors member. Eric Igwe was the top Scholastic member and Christian Talac was the top Varsity member. The Mustangs scored 29,103.8 total points.

The Westfield Academic Decathlon team finished 14th at the Region VII competition at Thurgood Marshall High School. They scored 26,197 in their first ever Academic Decathlon. The top Varsity score was Junior Heather Sprayberry. The top Scholastic score and total score was Senior Nicole Ayoub. The top Honor score was Bao Quach.
