Building and Learning for the Future
English Syllabus
Supplies Needed-
Notebook paper
Pen—blue or black only and one red
Pencil
*One folder will be provided to keep paper and assignments in. This folder will remain in the classroom. If the folder is damaged in any way that makes it unusable during the year it is the student’s responsibility to obtain a new one.

Class Guidelines-
Finished products will be:
Written in blue or black ink only (no gel pens)
On loose-leaf notebook paper
All school and classroom expectations will be followed
Respect yourself, others, and property

Missing Class-
It is the students’ responsibility to collect any missed work if absent. There are folders in the classroom that will contain work from each day of the week for those who have missed class. If there were spelling words given or notes taken, the student needs to ask to copy from a classmate.

Late Work-
If an assignment is turned in the day after it is due, 20 points will be deducted from the final score of that assignment. If the assignment is more than one day late, the highest score possible will be a 70. The student is still expected to complete the assignment to ensure mastery of the content. The parent will be contacted if a student has two or more zeroes.

Grade Distribution-
Daily Grades (quizzes, warm-ups, etc.)—50 %
Test Grades (essays, spelling tests, etc.)—50%

Expectations
Be:
Prepared
Respectful
Responsible
On time

I also value honesty and expect that at all times. As long as we are honest, we can work with any situation!
