Welcome to 6th Grade Language Arts

I am so pleased to be your child's teacher this year!!!!! It always exciting for me as a teacher of 28 years, to take an adventure with my students, to learn about many different people and places through reading and writing. There is no greater joy then to take a friend along.....so Welcome Aboard!!!!!!!

Frequently Asked Questions

Does my child have homework?

Yes! Students will be expected to read at least 30 minutes each night. They may read a book, magazine, newspaper or even a comic book.....just read. The benefits to your child reading every night will pay off with big dividends. Better readers make better writers. Vocabulary and grammar exercises will also be assigned to reinforce lessons.

What is the best way to reach you?

Definitely email!

My conference period is at the end of the day from 3:55 to 4:40. I will return your call before I leave for the day.

As a parent what can I do to help?

Thank you for asking!!!!!!

Please make sure your child brings supplies to class daily and has gotten a good night's rest. Please check to make sure that homework assignments are completed neatly and on time.

Lastly, please let me know if you have any concerns right away. We are in this together and I look forward to working with you this year.
